Just how non-cartoon in feel still works? And how transparent can those sunglasses be?
How can the specular highlight on the hair look like anime's bands or rings, and yet still have the linearity of hair?
There's no substitute for rendering trials. And more rendering trials...
(You might like to contrast this Hash: Animation Master rendering output with the Bryce render of sunglasses to see the difference between 'as-it-renders' splines versus heavily retouched polygons... There again, the rough angular look of the early Bryce pictures does have some sort of intrinsic appeal...)
